There are different reasons that influence people to believe in God. For
some it is because they have been told that since they were young. Others
have seen or experienced miracles that convince them. Others simply deny
all evidence and tell themselves that there is no evidence.

Well, that analogy is obviously incorrect on its face.

In no way am I suggesting anything that doesn't come straight
from Jesus in scripture. I'm just asking you to actually
consider Jesus' words, carefully and thoughtfully. If you
do, it's pretty clear what he is asking of those who choose
to follow him.

And to make the point clearer, ALL of the early Christians
actually _did_ understand his words and _knew_ what was being
asked of them and _performed_ accordingly, in action and
deed. We have ample evidence of that.

What _you_ have lost is the ability to hear him, anymore.

>>But I am curious, is your wife a real Christian or a false Christian?

You just pile one aspersion after another, don't you?

When was the last time you beat your wife?

Now, go back and READ what Jesus asked _you_ to do. The
Christians closer to Jesus knew. Apparently, you've lost the
ability now to understand what they understood. I'm merely
asking you to regain the hearing you've lost. That's all.
You are deaf to Jesus, it seems.

If you focus on the afterlife, then earth becomes hell.
The Christian afterlife is better than earth.
The Christian afterlife is a utopia compared to earth.
The earth is a deficient creation relative to heaven and therefore is a
form of hell created by God.
Earth is hell due to being worse than heaven.
Evidence to support that earth is hell is the presence of disease,
suffering, war, famine, crime, terrorism, threat of asteroid strike and
looming death due to aging.
EArth is God's hell 2.0.
It was 1.0 when God made all suffer with asphyxia. (The flood).

Christian engineers are ridiculous in believing in an afterlife so that
death is a happy event.
Bring balloons for when someone dies. It's happy death day.

OK, any recommendations of amputating my hands and plucking out my eyes?
But now I own the property that my retired mother and crippled father live.
Would Jesus want me to kick my parents out on the street and sell? This
year I have sold my backhoe, truck, and boat, will be selling more of my
possessions soon but it takes time. But with no hands or eyes I'll no
longer be able to help the poor and I'll become a burden on society.

D from BC,

Its seems you may be confusing God with Christians.

American Christians are a small part of the entire world of Christians.

How many Christian followers are there worldwide?
There are approximately 2.1 billion Christians worldwide, making it the
most popular religion in the world.

http://wiki.answers.com/Q/How_many_Christian_followers_are_there_worldwide

If you take how many people follow Christianity:
How many people follow Christianity?

Quite a bit of people,

but not a lot of people as many people follow Islam.

http://wiki.answers.com/Q/How_many_people_follow_Christianity

And divided the number of Christians world wide by the number of
Christian in the USA:
How many Christian are in the USA ?
~160 Million

Top Twenty Religions in the United States, 2001
http://www.adherents.com/rel_USA.html#religions

160M / 2100M = 0.076190476190476190476190476190476
So American Christians are less then 8% of the world wide Christians.

And we all know that Americans Christians are a political party.

The number of people that follow a "god" without being Christian is
almost 1000 to 1.

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Major_religious_groups

Please adjust your rants to American Christians, God IS NOT with
American Christians.

American Christian are with American Christians.
