Most people aren't used to USING their brains. 60% of the UK population are now sceptics. > Expect more after this winter. Graham does seem to be a card-carrying member of the group that doesn't use their brains - he's a thoroughly gulled victim of the anti- global-warming propagandists. Maybe if Viscount Monkton didn't have a title Graham might be more sceptical of the lies Monkton publishes, but Graham is English and they are particullary gullible when it comes to titled rogues. -- Bill Sloman, Nijmegen

I'd love it if Graham learned enough to take part in a real debate. All he can manage is pointing to bogus and irrelevant authorities - and he hasn't even bothered going that far here, since he is effectively setting himself up as his own (thoroughly bogus) authority on what constitutes debate. -- Bill Sloman, Nijmegen

It's religion, not science any more. Graham doesn't know enough science to be able to distinguish between science and religion. -- Bill Sloman, Nijmegen

Probably not. GISS exists to process and publish a large mass of observations collected by NASA's satellites. http://www.giss.nasa.gov/about/ The satellittes have been up there for a while, and the process of turning the raw data into human-comprehensible documents is now tedious routine, and the people that have been stuck with doing the work are probably bored out of their skulls, which provides a plausible explanation for the mistakes in the data. Concocting convincing data takes much more work, and anybody going in for serious deception wouldn't cut and paste earlier data - that sort of manipulation is too easy to detect. Graham doesn't know enough about the science and technology involved to be conscious of this kind of detail which leaves him free to produce implausible inventions. -- Bill Sloman, Nijmegen |
